In 2018, I spent four months as a social media manager for both the Columbia Missourian and Vox Magazine in Columbia, Missouri (for a total of eight months of experience). The position at the Missourian required I post relevant stories on the Missourian's Facebook and Twitter accounts, while the Vox position required posts on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram on weekly shifts over the course of a few months. This work prepared me for understanding how certain websites function and how to utilize certain tool and widgets on each site to promote the organization's work effectively while also staying in the company's online voice.
